The Responsible Sourcing Scheme rules have been updated and split into two separate documents:

  1. Scheme Management Document –Defining governance structures, director rotation policies, and subcommittee responsibilities.
  2. Scheme Rules Document – Outlining scheme requirements in a clearer format, with key updates including:
  • Logo Usage: From summer 2025, the RSS logo will only appear on products that have fully completed the audit process, ensuring clear communication to consumers. Membership
  • Requirements: The P7 protocol is now explicitly listed as a requirement for manufacturers of multipurpose growing media in the amateur market.
  • Non-Compliance Measures: Clearer definitions of infractions, corrective actions, and penalties for non-compliance, with a 60-day removal period for expelled members to cease using RSS branding.

These updates reinforce credibility and ensure that the scheme continues to meet the evolving needs of the industry.
